Community Health Forum (766kb)
The residents living in the Kwinana Industrial Area expressed concern about possible health effects associated with emissions from the industries. A consequent survey by the Department of Health indicated the prevalence of health risk factors in Cockburn and Rockingham were similar to the State in most cases. The major exceptions were a significantly higher prevalence of obesity and insufficient physical activity in Cockburn females; a significantly higher prevalence of ex-smokers in Rockingham females and a significantly higher prevalence of smokers in Rockingham males.
